Our faculty have been presidents of national societies including the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Urogynecologic Society and the American Gynecologic and Obstetrical Society. Perennially, our faculty is well represented in the publication, The Best Doctors in America, and as Top Docs in San Diego Magazine. Our renowned specialists cover the gamut of our specialty from, high risk pregnancy management, fetal diagnosis and therapy, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, infertility, as well as general gynecologic and obstetrical women's health care.

For patients, we offer comprehensive women's health care at multiple locations throughout San Diego for your convenience. The UC San Diego Medical Center is ranked first in the San Diego area by U.S. News and World Report. For referring physicians, we offer a full scope of specialty and subspecialty faculty clinicians for consultation for your most difficult clinical problems. We have specialty clinics devoted to high-risk pregnancy, diabetes in pregnancy, placental dysfunction, obesity in pregnancy, endometriosis, fibroids, menopause, cancer, complex contraception, family planning, incontinence, and prolapse. Our obstetrical service provides the only in-hospital birthing center on the West Coast, managed by experienced clinical nurse midwives for that unique home birthing experience. We are also looking forward to the opening of our crown jewel, the Jacobs Medical Center in 2016. With this new location, we will offer state-of-the-art care with the same cutting-edge expertise. Please take this opportunity to browse our web pages and learn more about our outstanding physicians, programs and services.

Research is conducted in a wide variety of areas within the Department of Reproductive Medicine. Individual faculty and groups of faculty have research programs which explore development, regulation, and control at the molecular, cellular, organ and systemic levels in the reproductive areas. The Department participates in prestigious and nationally recognized studies such as the Women's Reproductive Health Research Career Development Program and the Pelvic Floor Disorders Network. Please browse our web pages and learn more about our outstanding researchers and their superior work.

We are committed to excellent education and training for medical students, residents, fellows and practitioners. Our commitment to education has resulted in our residency and fellowship programs being among the most coveted in the nation. We have accredited fellowship training programs in maternal fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, and anticipate a fellowship program in family planning soon. We offer a wide array of continuing medical education programs addressing obstetric and gynecologic topics both locally and nationally.
