Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program

Program Director: Yvette LaCoursiere, MD

Students and Electives

There are always from twelve to fifteen students on the Ob/Gyn service at UCSD Medical Center on the 3rd year Ob/Gyn clerkship. In addition, several sub-internship rotations are offered, and thus an active student-teaching service is maintained. Each student on the core clerkship is assigned to a particular service and the residents on that service are directly responsible for a significant portion of the student's training. The experience is both a responsible and rewarding one for the house staff involved.

All fourth-year electives are arranged through the Office of Student Affairs at the UCSD School of Medicine. Applicants wishing information regarding electives should refer to this website: Undergraduate Medical Education.
