Perspective: Dr. Chin believes that in order to provide
state-of-the-art care, every obstetrician-gynecologists must keep
current with the ever-changing knowledge and new technologies of our
field. However, the ability to communicate with patients and convey
this information to patients and to educate patients is equally
important. The practice of providing the time for discussion with and
education of the patient is just as important as choosing the correct
medication or management for a patient's problem. A patient must be
fully-informed in order to be an active participant in her health care.
