Detailed information
regarding the program may also be found at Residency,
in the APGO/CIBA Directory of Residencies in Ob-Gyn and/or the Graduate
Medical Education Directory. All application materials must be
submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS),
via the applicant's Dean's Office, and all Resident Physician (RP) 1 positions are
filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We accept
five RP1s each year and have an overall program total of 20
residents.
UCSD's Reproductive Medicine
Residency Program consists of four years of intensive clinical training in
general obstetrics and gynecology, including formal training in all
of the subspecialties: oncology, perinatology, endocrinology, and urogynecology. During the four-year program, residents receive 25% of
their training at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital, and the remainder at UCSD Medical Center.
The Program's faculty are committed to an educational approach which
espouses a balance between clinical exposure and didactic teaching. Our
goal is to provide a "problem-solving" approach to
postgraduate education and to train physicians who are well-rounded
obstetrician-gynecologists able to individualize patient management,
and well-prepared for various types of practice or an academic career.
