Gynecologic Oncology
UCSD is the only cancer facility in San Diego designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. In fact, only 41 centers nationwide have earned this distinction. The faculty of Gynecologic Oncology provides care for women with cancer of the reproductive tract and conducts research in order to improve methods of diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancer.
As San Diego's only medical institution affiliated with the Gynecologic Oncology Group, we offer patients an opportunity to participate in National Institutes of Health-supported clinical trials of new therapies not available elsewhere in San Diego. Our patients also have access to innovative industry-sponsored trials.
