Patient Care

Dr. Varon provides healthcare to women with a broad spectrum of needs including pregnancy, health care maintenance, contraception, fibroids, abnormal bleeding, abnormal pap smears, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and menopause. She has a focus on minimally-invasive surgery (including robotic surgery and laparoscopic procedures) for women with abnormal uterine bleeding and uterine fibroids, and is involved in clinical research related to uterine fibroids.

Professional Activities

Over the course of her career, Dr. Varon has served on 2 national committees for the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. On those committees, she collaborated with leaders in this specialty to develop topics and write documents which establish a standard of care for the evolving practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the nation.

In addition, she is a member of the UC Fibroid Network and is actively engaged in clinical research related to uterine fibroids.

Perspective

Dr. Varon believes that in order to provide quality care to patients, a physician must engage in the continuous process of learning and practicing evidence-based medicine. She believes that the physician-patient relationship and the time spent discussing treatment options is as important as the chosen treatment plan. In addition, she is a very enthusiastic teacher of both residents and medical students, and has received several accolades for her excellence in teaching.
